why repotted
It was a snowy December morning in my dimly lit kitchen. Awake before everyone else, as I started a pot of coffee, I lamented for the umpteenth time about the stupid pink plastic coffee container. I had spent years leading up to this ridding my life of plastic, surrounding my family in natural products, and repurposing antiques into our home staples. I have long been done with trading our health for convenience.
That morning, I thought to myself about my ideal coffee. It is fresh roasted, does not contain any artificial flavoring, and is 100% compostable, designed to enrich myself and my garden. “I want my coffee to just be ‘repotted,’” I thought to myself with a chuckle. In that exact moment, I knew I was going to build this brand.
After months of tasting and curating, talking with roasters, seeking out the most ecologically friendly materials down to a carbon-negative ink, and creating the brand from scratch, we had our first batch of bags filled.
What began with a personal mission to have good coffee at home quickly outsized our little kitchen. In the time since that December morning in 2024, we have proudly served our fresh coffee to our friends, family & neighbors, and to our community at the Farmer’s Market. Together, we are diverting plastic coffee containers from ending in a landfill, fertilizing our gardens instead— and we’re just getting started.
Our lineup is carefully curated through independent growers and indigenous farms, roasted with precision in small batches, and packaged without waste.
